TEKTON insulated pliers have insulated handles to protect against electrical shock for voltages up to 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC. They are individually tested and VDE certified in accordance with IEC 60900. This set includes combination, long nose, and diagonal cutting insulated pliers. The stout jaws on the combination pliers offer six distinct work zones: a wire cutter for fast, clean cuts, flat tips for even clamping, hex-grip teeth for turning hex bolts, coarse teeth for an aggressive bite, fine teeth for controlled gripping, and a wire groove for holding a single wire. The jaws on the long nose pliers have five distinct work zones: serrated surfaces at the tip for controlled gripping, smooth surfaces in the middle for non-marring clamping, coarse teeth for an aggressive bite, a knife-to-knife wire cutter, and hex-grip teeth that can turn bolts in a pin. The diagonal cutting pliers have a 0.9 in. cutting capacity for a variety of wire and cable sizes. Two opposing knives meet in the center, offering clean wire cuts with less effort. The tops of the handles are flared to guard against live wires and also to give your hand a positive stop to push against, allowing better control with a looser grip. The body of the pliers is made of drop-forged steel that's oil-hardened to 43 - 45 HRC and enamel-coated. The yellow handle core is made of hard polypropylene and the red handle overmold is made of soft, grippy thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).
