Puebla' Avocado are a small avocado with shiny, smooth thin edible skin, very similar to the popular 'Mexicola' and about half the size of the typical 'Hass'. Puebla was among some of the first varieties grown commercially in the state of California in the early 1900's. Introduced to the U.S. from the Mexican state 'Puebla, in 1911, it was considered the finest of the Mexican avocado varietals and an excellent choice for home gardeners. Beloved for its rich buttery flavor it became quite popular before producers turned to the thick-skinned Hass, which holds up better for shipping. For this reason Puebla avocado are rare and often hard to find even in local markets.This beauty will grow to a mature height of 35 ft. or can be pruned to fit your landscape.
