A dwarf version of the taller Firebush, this small tropical shrub grows just 3-5 ft. tall and wide. Orange red tubular flowers cover the plant most of the year, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds to the landscape. Non edible black berries appear in fall, when its foliage also turns to a bronze red hue. Commonly used as a landscape accent or specimen in the mixed border or as a mass planting. Grow outdoors only in USDA Plant Zones 9-11, in all other areas the plant is typically grown as an annual and replaced each year. Flowers best in full sun, although the foliage looks best when grown in dappled shade. Not particular on soil type, drought tolerant after fully established.
